HRU Hammar is the hydrostatic release unit used in emergency conditions thus giving assured safety. The installation of marine safety hammer is quick and easy having reliable and simple design. The H20 needs no annual service, maintenance, or spare parts. You simply install a new unit and dispose of the old once it has reached the end of service life. If the vessel sinks, the increasing water pressure activates the Hammar H20. It automatically releases the liferafts. It is used in shipping industry.

Specifications:

  • The Hammer H20 release unit consists of a double looped white rope line, a release mechanism and a Red Weak Link (breaking strength 2,2 ± 0,4kN).
  • For smaller life rafts (from "" persons and outside SOLAS regulation) we recommend Hammer H20 Small Rafts model with a special weak link, identified by the green lower thimble (breaking strength 1, 2 ± 0, 4 kN).
  • For life rafts smaller than 4 persons, please contact the life raft manufacturer.
  • The white strong rope of Hammer H20 is secured to the deck or life raft cradle and attached to the life raft lashing with a slip hook.
  • If the ship sinks, the water pressure will, within 4 meters, activate the sharp knife which cuts the white strong rope and the life raft will float free.
  • As the ship sinks, the life raft painter line will be stretched and the life raft starts to inflate.
  • The Red Weak Link breaks and survivors can board the floating life raft.
  • The Hammer H20 needs no annual service, maintenance or spare parts, but MUST BE REPLACED AFTER TWO YEARS.
  • SOLAS 74/96 Convention, Reg. III/4 LSA Code, MO Res. MSC. 48/(66), IMO Res. MSC. 81(70), approved to EU Directive 96/98 EC on Marine Equipment and has a Nato stock number.
